Imaan Based in the UK, Imaan strives to provide support for LGBT Muslims, their families, and their allies. Imaan promotes the Islamic values of peace, social justice, and tolerance by providing a safe space and support network meant to address issues of sexual orientation and gender identity within Islam.
Masjid al-Rabia - Chicago Masjid al-Rabia is a women-centered, anti-racist, LGBTQIA+ affirming, pluralist, and accessible masjid in Chicago, providing spiritual care for Muslims worldwide through online resources and programming.
Muslims for Progressive Values Muslims for Progressive Values is based on the Qur’anic ideals of human dignity and social justice. They actively welcome LGBT Muslims and advocate for equality locally, nationally, and internationally. They are currently working on scholarly position papers that document the basis for LGBT equality in Islamic law.
OUTMuslim Based primarily on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram, OUTMuslim is a social media presence invested in increasing the visibility of queer-identifying Muslims through various digital media.
Queer Crescent Founded in 2018, Queer Crescent Healing is a healing justice organization centered on community, safety, and healing arts for LGBTQIA+ Muslims in the Bay Area and beyond. Our programs focus on building resilience, emerging leadership, connecting to spiritual practices and reclaiming our dignity, place and power within community.
Queer Muslim Revolution Since its founding in 2007, the Queer Muslim Revolution blog collects progressive news, information, and resources for LGBT Muslims and allies. They also share information about books, movies, and documentaries that deal with the topic of sexual orientation and gender identity within Islam.
Queer Muslims Queer Muslims is a blog meant to provide space for LGBT Muslims to express themselves, share information and resources, and connect with one another. They explicitly ban name calling, debate about Islamic texts, or negative comments.
Salaam Canada Salaam Canada provides space for folks identifying as queer or trans in the Muslim community, as well as conducts programming and advocacy for these groups within and outside of the Muslim community.
The Inner Circle Based in South Africa, The Inner Circle (TIC) raises consciousness through spirituality, education and movement building; bringing healing to Muslims who are marginalized based on sexual orientation and gender identity. TIC was established in 1996 - initially, as an underground social and support group - and continues to boast robust resources and programming for LGBTQ+ Muslims.
The Muslim Alliance for Gender and Sexual Diversity MAGSD tries to support and connect LGBTQIA+ Muslims, while challenging the root causes of oppression. Through doing so, they aim to promote a more progressive model of Islam that centers justice, equality, and care.
